No longer are you, Lord, with us. From the day you brought your disciples to Bethany, and having blessed them, you were taken to heaven and we could not see you again on earth. Since then, the faith has replaced vision, and mystery to the present. We have in Scripture, we have in the sacraments, but it's your Holy Spirit who accompanies us on the path of this world, thy rod and thy staff good pastor.
Lord Jesus, King of eternal glory and majesty, do not leave us helpless. We know that we are not worthy of you. But, Lord, do not let us sink into the cares of this world, but let us lift you to the presence of God our Father.
May your Holy Spirit keep us in the unit, with the bond of love, and that we overcome the snares of sin, that we drag along the ground and does not allow you to rise above.
